Week3-1
I practised in pairs creating around the 30-second short film in the session. I like to make the story, so I wanted to create a film narratively. First, I needed to think about the concept, but there was not enough time to think about the firm content. Therefore, we decided to try to capture the atmosphere first. My friend’s idea was the daily life of the university girl. However, I thought everyone used the campus as the location, and I wanted to create something different concept. However, when I was telling my narrative concept, it was sometimes hard for people to get what I was trying to tell. We then combined our ideas for each scene. Accidentally, we used the tea-coloured orange and my hair colour just dyed orange, and it matches, so I suggested using the colour itself as our theme. We decided on the title, which is orange summer. I wouldn’t say I liked the work.
Moreover, we struggle to find the back sound, edit volume, and timing for the editing part. Also, we didn’t have time to use the filters. I want to research more and develop my editing skills to apply in my own film that captures my ZINE. I will take some videos in public space or some actions to use as the background sound for the sound. I think this will be interesting to connect to the videos. I am excited about how I can communicate my Zine concept and content through the film.
