Session 11: Organise Content
I thought the essential part was organizing the layout and typography throughout the session. Due to that magazine being on display in a store, the layout plays a role in making sure that the magazine looks good. The placement of images and their relation to the text make good dynamics. When the content is easily read, and the images complement the story perfectly, readers think that the magazine has an excellent editorial sense. I also thought no matter how great the material is, I won’t attract readers without an impressive and professional magazine page design. For example, whether people are accessing the magazine in print or online, the readers want to see copy and images that are easy for the eyes to follow and arranged in a way that’s appealing and easy to follow.
When I reorder the page to create my magazine, I came up with many tasks that I needed to brush up. Such as Will I be focusing on words or images? Will my articles be short, long, or mixed? Will I encounter a variety of themes or stick to just one? In terms of visual design within the magazine, the options are almost endless, and I thought I would have to experiment again.
