Illustrations
I used the images that I had taken over the last sessions to do fashion illustrations in the session. The current generation highly depends on photography to express thoughts and ideas. This may be true about those who are quick to show what they think. But in a professional scenario, drawing is relevant to expressing ideas and designs. The illustrators can express and brush up on their creativity.
I took painting as my subject when I was Year11 to 13. I learned by experimenting with different kinds of tools, and I was able to see how I felt about working with them. Although I feel like I’ve found my distinctive style, I’m still honing my skills to be even more proficient in using tools and be confident by expressing myself through drawing. I am still want to develop and find my original style. I like to see the works of the masters of fashion illustration. Although their style is completely different from mine, I love how expressive it is. I always enjoy how illustrators capture fashion and femininity by using only a few strokes of paint or ink and sometimes just pencil. I take inspiration from everything around me but mostly from music, which puts me in a certain mood – I can show the current state of my mind through personal illustrations and things I’ve been thinking about recently. I used paintings and watercolour during the session, but I couldn’t demonstrate my ideas well. Therefore, I will try to use other media to compare to the previous illustrations.
