Session 6: External Trip Southbank

For the session, I considered many styles myself because I was the model and the content for the tasks. The style of my choice was successful because we were easy to think of the theme for the looks. At first, we had taken some good photoshoots, but they were a bit more like Instagram posts. Therefore, we struggled with developing the ideas and being creative to show our concept. We tried to find the places which fit each of our fashion styles on that day. I was wearing the bennie, gloves and scarf which are all the same design. We found a yellow wall that matches the colour of my fashion objects. I thought this photoshoot worked better than other photos. However, we needed to explore buildings, architecture, furniture, backgrounds, people, and nature. Then we could create more stand-out images.

We moved the places which are near Oxford street. We used the stairs to try different poses and took photos from various angles, such as the upper angle from the body or the opposite. It was prosperous compared to the previous photoshoots. Because of that, we were more focused on the background and the lighting. The background included the architecture. They give the images more meaning create atmosphere and narrative to your fashion media content. We have considered the commercial visibility of fashion products at this time, and not the only atmosphere.

When we moved to do another task, thinking about street styles and trends, I wanted to pick the shoe wears for this task. However, I felt the focus on bags or garments was much easier to expand the contents. I did a similar task last year, and It was challenging to talk to people. However, I’m making a habit of proactively striking conversations with English speakers to improve my confidence. I talked to some people, but not many people wore interesting looks.
